LXDE - Lightweight X11 Desktops Environment I keep meaning to give this a try on an older machine. Looks to be lighter than XFCE but better for the average user than other lightweight options (Enlightenment, WindowMaker, Fluxbox and so forth are nice, but they are not good for converting Windows users).
